Clinical psychologist Dr. Susan Pazak was recently featured in Women’s Health magazine article titled, ‘Here’s How To Start Over When You Need To Make A Change In Life, According To Experts’. Here is an excerpt of the article. ‘Chances are, you’ve felt stuck at one point in your life. Maybe you feel like your job isn’t fulfilling anymore, or you don’t have as much in common with your college bestie as you used to. New Year’s may be synonymous with self-reflection and fresh starts, but you don’t have to wait until January 1st to make meaningful changes—you can start over any time.
And while you might feel like you’re standing alone at a crossroads, unsure which way to turn, you’re not. Only 51 percent of Americans are satisfied with their jobs, according to a 2023 Pew Research Center study. And just 47 percent of people identified as “very satisfied” with their personal lives in 2024, per Gallup data.
Here’s the good news: Starting over doesn’t have to be as dramatic as it sounds. In fact, it rarely looks like telling your boss to shove it or initiating a sudden breakup. Most of the time, the key to real change is recognizing exactly what’s not working, figuring out what will make you more content, and strategizing the healthiest way to initiate change.’
